The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian
This was a Book that is about a Indian who tells his story about him going to a white school. For me the book didn't interest me and I just didn't like the book.
1984
This was a story about a man in a dystopian future were the government controls everything and you could be punished for thought crimes. So a crime that you didn't commit but thought about doing it. He falls in love and wants to rebel against the government. Eventually he gets caught and gets tormented in the ministry of love. At the end he is in a coffee shop playing chess. This was a good book.
The Circuit
This book is all about a immigrant living in the US. It was not my favorite mostly because I was a slow reader so I would be rushing it however I also wasn't engaged in the story.
Zoot Suit
It was about two gangs who didn't like each other. At one point a fight broke out and then there were some murders. the police thought it was one of the gangs but it wasn't. We acted the book out because it was written like a play. It wasn't my favorite.
Persepolis
This book is all about a girl and how she doesn't like the things she is being made to do. It is a very short book that you could finish in 30 min probably. It was not interesting for me.
The Alchemist
This was the first book I really felt invested in this year. It was mysterious and interesting. It got you thinking about what would happen next even though there was some things I didn't like. Mostly the weird writing but besides that it was a really good book.
The Kite Runner
This is one of my favorite books I red this year. I was so emotionally invested that I cried sometimes. I was so sad for the main character that I cried. I really liked every thing I red. My only complaint was my sisters post it notes on the book blocking the words.
I'm not leaving
This was my least favorite book I red this year. It was bland and uninteresting. I found myself hating every second I read hoping it would get infesting but it didn't. I never finished this book but if I did, I bet there was never any interesting parts in it.
The Chinese Cinderella
This book was one I liked thinking to myself on. I would think of what I would do in that scenario. It was really sad to read about this happening and I felt genuinely sorry for whoever had this as a childhood. This was another good book I red this year.
